Author Topic: Can anyone recommend a TO-38 (3.8mm) laser diode housing? (Read 9846 times)

Subj says it all. I opened a Blu-Ray drive and harvested a working violet-blue laser diode from there. Also a red one, all in the same TO-38 (diameter 3.8mm can) package. Trouble is: can't find a housing for this tiny can. I've got TO-18 (5.6mm), TO-5 (9mm) but 3.8mm seems so rare no one makes a housing for it? Has anyone ever come across a proper housing for these little laser diodes?

Please advise!
