For all my small micro projects I will be using a Femtoduino - really tiny Arduino Compatible board, affordable too!

It is pretty cool but I'm curious: how many I/Os do you actually need for a flier? I understand that the motor is actually a brushless DC, 2-pole, right?  4 I/Os for the motor (or 2 actually - I haven't looked carefully into it yet), 1x I/O for the IR receiver  and I could not for life of me figure out the controls - was there any servo in there (I doubt it tho), say 2 for controls? Anyway, looks like an Attiny(85, 45 or even 13) in a SOIC8 may do, no?
